3/21/2014 - Centeniel Conventions

2014 is a busy year, as we celebrate the 100 anniversary of the ARRL -
The National Association for Amateur Radio. There are a number of
events taking place:

The ARRL Centennial QSO Party is a year-long operating event that
celebrates hams making contacts. In the end you will have accumulated
points, worked new stations and made new friends all over the world.

The Centennial QSO Party is made-up of two main activities: (1) W1AW
operating portable in each state and most territories; and (2) The
Centennial Points Challenge which is the accumulation of points from
qualifying contacts made throughout 2014. To have a score listed
online in the Points Challenge competition, logs must be submitted
through the Logbook of the World (LoTW) system.

Come celebrate, July 17 - 19! Thousands of members and friends of ARRL
will gather at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford, ARRL's
birthplace, to celebrate the organization's first 100 years of members
"Advancing the Art and Science of Radio." Founded in 1914, ARRL
(American Radio Relay League) is the national association for Amateur
Radio in the US and the largest organization of radio amateurs, or
"hams," in the world.

June 6-8 Regional Convention at Seaside: We will gather for one of the
Country's regional conventions, at Seaside Oregon. Classes/seminars,
dealers, swap meet, friends and great weather. (it's always great at
the beach) Come celebrate 100 years of ARRL activity.

CONVENTION HOTELS: If you are planning to attend the National
Convention or any of the Regional Conventions, you would be advised to
get your hotel reservations now, as we understand that all venues
report that hotels are filling up fast.
