"Director Jim Fenstermaker, K9JF has just been elected to the Executive Committee of the ARRL Board at the 2012 meeting of the Board of Directors. Director Fenstermaker will serve along with Directors Brian Mileshosky, N5ZGT of the Rocky Mountain Division, George R. Isely, W9GIG of the Central Division, Cliff Ahrens, KØCA of the Midwest Division, and Dr David Woolweaver, K5RAV of the West Gulf Division. This is a significant and important appointment and a strong vote of confidence in his abilities and stewardship of amateur radio."

'In other news from the 2012 Board Meeting: In recognition of the significant contributions he can make, Vice Director Grant Hopper, KB7WSD was appointed by President Kay Craigie, N3KN to the ARRL Amateur Radio Legal Defense and Assistance Committee. Mr. Hopper joins several fellow Attorneys and Judges in working on behalf of league members and all amateurs to protect and enforce the rights and privileges of amateur radio operators anywhere. Mr. Hopper has served Washington State as a Volunteer Council and has worked to add additional resources to the Volunteer Council programs of the states of the Northwestern Division as well as assisting clubs throughout the division with activities and practices of those clubs as well as general educational opportunities for all of the amateurs of our division."

"A draft band plan for 9 CM has been discussed and there are high hopes for the circulation of that plan in the near future."

"Preparations have begun for the 100th anniversary celebration of the ARRL in 2014"
